Empathy and Neuroscience – A Must-See Video

Many philosophies ground their arguments on ideas concerning human nature, like capitalist philosophies that argue humans are naturally self-interested, competitive creatures.  In general, I’m hesitant of most arguments that begin with a fundamental view of human nature simply because it seems impossible to know our nature, but some recent developments in neuroscience and other fields have yielded some interesting results as to the nature of people and what that means for our suppositions of human nature and the fictions and cultural structures we’ve erected from them.

Below is a must-see video for anyone interested in human nature as it relates to science.  I’d love to hear your comments and opinions regarding the video.
