Passion Pit – It’s Not My Fault, I’m Happy

For some, Passion Pit’s electro hyper-pop can feel overly dramatic and synthetic, perhaps fitting a children’s television show or Disney parade, but beneath that face is a pulsing, seething landscape of beautiful and painful emotional depth.  A serious listener will likely hear frontman Michael Angelakos’ manic genius at work, blending heavy beats with airy synthesized overtones that burst and bloom expansively over the course of his albums.  There is quite a lot to be said for Passion Pit’s music, but I’ll stop myself before I go to far and just post one of my favorite songs from their new album which releases today.  If you’re interested, the process of making this album was tumultuous to say the least.  You can read the full story HERE.
